About

Jayar Young

I was born in Flint, Michigan, and spent my childhood immersed in sports, particularly basketball and football. As a young adult, I moved to Minneapolis, where I’ve continued to pursue my passion for basketball. Today, I am honored to serve as the President of the Greater Twin Cities African American Basketball Hall of Fame, a non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating and preserving the legacy of African American basketball players and coaches in our community. Our Mission

Our mission is to honor and celebrate the achievements of African American basketball players in the greater Minneapolis area, preserving their legacy for future generations and inspiring our community.

The Greater Minneapolis African American Basketball Hall of Fame was founded by Jayar, who has long been passionate about basketball and committed to recognizing the achievements of African American athletes in our community. His vision led to the creation of this Hall of Fame as a way to celebrate the legends who have made significant contributions to the sport and to our society. Through this initiative, we aim to preserve their rich legacy, educate the public about their impact, and inspire future generations to follow in their footsteps. Our story is one of dedication, community, and a deep love for the game of basketball.
