Eligibility Criteria
Who is eligible to be inducted into the Hall of Fame?
- Players, coaches, and referees from the Twin Cities and the greater area who have the most significant contributions and impact on the basketball game.
- Candidates must be from the Twin Cities and the greater area
- Candidates must have been active in local area seen, high school, college and pro and made an impact on the twin cities for some time.
- Candidates must have been retired or inactive for at least five (5) calendar years preceding the election but may be otherwise connected to basketball.
- In case of the death of an active player or a player who has been retired for less than five (5) full years, a candidate is eligible in the next regular election held at least six (6) months after the date of death or after the end of the five (5) year period, whichever occurs first.
Who Is Involved In The Selection Process
- The Committee from the Greater Twin Cities African American Basketball Hall of Fame organization.
- A media representative from the Twin Cities sport.
- Pro Basketball(s) from the Twin Cities.
- Basketball experts and historians from the Twin Cities, and
- Input from the community determine a list of nominees for possible Hall of Famers.
